i-SITE New Zealand understand that local knowledge is the key to the success of their nationwide visitor information network. i-SITE needed a way to ensure that they made the most of the knowledge within their network of 90 i-SITEs.
The Breathe team created a tool to increase communication and information sharing between branches and also enhance the sense of community throughout the i-SITE staff. The new site has enabled i-SITE staff to easily share and grow knowledge, ensuring they can always offer New Zealanders the best ‘insider knowledge’ that they can get. i-SITE staff can now use their extranet to create special interest groups that their staff can contribute to.
The extranet is based on the Drupal CMS and is using comprehensive suite of modules called Organic Groups. This enables i-SITE staff to create status pages, post stories, post comments, post images, create groups dedicated to specific topics, create notifications about specific topics of discussion and much more.
The extranet has also helped to power the public web campaign promoting hidden New Zealand secrets.
