Forest and Bird needed a web solution to help them achieve their goal of protecting New Zealand’s flora and fauna.
To achieve this we built a website full of detailed information and vibrant images of New Zealand’s wildlife and environment. A lively WebBlog and fresh E-News template mean that Forest & Bird now have exciting new ways to inspire, inform, and promote conservation to New Zealanders.
Our solution included using a Drupal CMS (content management system) which is highly taxonomy driven. What does actually this mean? Well it means that a Forest and Bird campaign can be found under:
- The campaign’s page
- on the specific region(s) page(s)
- on the specific branch(s) page(s)
- and using the search
And vice versa. Everything is cross-referenced, which is the appropriate way to handle large amounts of content. The taxonomy driven CMS therefore allows Forest and Bird staff to easily maintain and manage their large amount of content - including banners, forms, maps and digital media such as mp3’s.
